Hello everybody! I am so glad that you have decided to join us yet again for another Inked Blog episode Recap! So, the guest for today's episode was Egan Weinacht and he joined us to break down building characters through their strengths and weaknesses! With that lets just dive into the questions and his responses to them!
What is your biggest pieces of advice for writing character flaws?
"Make your characters flaws relatable, this will help your readers identify with them, so even if your characters aren't human then you can give your readers something they can look at and be like hey I do that! Also don't overwhelm your characters with several major flaws that can be like completely concerning, try to give them one major flaw and then maybe a few minor flaws, like nervous habits they could have or a weird quirk they may do a lot, so that all your readers (even though that don't identify with the big flaw,) can identify with something,"
What is your biggest piece of advice for writing character strengths?
"Give them a strength that offsets your characters weaknesses, like in my project where I have a character who has invincible skin and strength, so to offset that is the fact that it makes him gain weight, so if he doesn't take care for himself, he will be permanently enable to do his job of being a hero,"
We kept this episode on the shorter end of questions focusing on these two things! Since we will be talking about characters a lot in the future! So, thank you for joining us for this blog episode recap! And we'll see you next time!
