Hello everyone and welcome back to the Inked Blog! In this episode of the show, we talked about the turning point and how it functions in a story so without delay let's just dive into our questions and Bella's responses.
What is the turning point?
"The Turning point is the part of the story where your character gets the story moving by making a choice or finally enacting some kind of action in the story, this is also the point where the character will never be the same again so doing the turning point well is super important."
Reilly's Note: It's the moment that your character meets a fork in the road and makes the choice that will change them forever.
What is the overall effect of your turning point?
"The turning point is what makes your story what it is, it keeps your story from being boring or bland and gives your characters a chance to actually do something with their lives making your story colorful and creative,"
How does the turning point directly affect your characters?
"Your turning point can be in your main characters hands or out of their hands and either way they are still going to change forever because of that turning point, they grow through your turning point, and they are the reason your turning point happens,"
Why is the turning point so important?
"It is the first step of your story; your characters and your story grow and progress because of that turning point and it's really important that they do that because if they didn't your story would just be a tale of regular daily life."
How does the turning point affect your characters morals?
"Your characters are left in limbo when they go through the turning point and they have to fight themselves and they have to finally decide how they are going to live their lives with this sense of morals that they have,"
Thank you for listening (or reading) this episode of the podcast! And we will see you next time!
