Hello guys and welcome back to the Inked Podcast Blog! In today's Episode our guest Miss Genesis Duran breaks down what the climax is, how it functions, and what we as authors can do to make it so much better for our readers! So, without further delay let's just dive into our questions and Genesis's insights!
What is the Climax in your own words?
"It is the highest point in your story, when all the tension that was built up in your story is going to burst and free up all the tension in your story"
Reilly's Note: It's the point where your readers are on the edge of their seats because everything is about to unfold before them
Why is Climax the most memorable parts of our stories?
"It's because of that tension that we mentioned before because it's the point where everything comes to an end in the form of a battle or decision, etc., so it's just the point where everything that's been happening finally makes sense."
Does Climax always have to be a big battle/event?
"It doesn't have to be but predominantly in stories it is, because that's most of the time how stories unfold, but it is possible to have a climax that isn't a battle but the thing about doing that is making sure that you are keeping your readers on the edge despite it not being a big battle"
Does the genre of your story effect the climax?
"It does absolutely, because your genre is the vibe of your story because when you are writing in fantasy, or just hi fiction in general you are most likely going to have some kind of big battle, but if your writing contemporary you are going to have to more of an internal climax because obviously it is set in the real world so you have to accept the restraints of that,"
Does every story need a Climax?
"I am not sure, because you are almost always going to need that climax, because you need a release for that tension in there, so I guess not, I think you're always going to need it,"
Thank you for joining us for this episode of the podcast and we will see you next time!
