S1E2 (The Idea) Recap!

Hello friends and welcome yet again to the Inked Blog! Today we are summing up our second episode of the show in which we talked about what to do with your new story ideas! There are so many things that can be said on this topic but as we shall always here on this blog, we will be focusing on the things that are covered in the episode! So, let's just jump straight into the questions...

1. Where do you find yourself getting Ideas from the most?

   "I find inspiration mostly from my own brain, dreams I've had to make sense of, Pinterest, and the world around me,"

2. What is the next step you take after you have the original idea?

   "WRITE IT DOWN! That is the biggest and most important thing I can say as the first step, because after you do that there are three ways that you can proceed, you can 1. Find Inspiration (writing prompts, picture prompts, etc.) 2. Do a brain dump (Throw all your ideas in one place to get them out there) 3. Find a Topic and Theme in for your story,"

3. How do you keep all your ideas organized?

   "Make a folder (either physical or digital) with the permanent or temporary title of your story and keep all your ideas in there, or organize all the ideas and details with a plot format where each scene fits into a point of the plot,"

4. What is your advice for picking just one Idea to follow?

   "Pick the one your passionate about, because if you aren't passionate about that story idea then the resulting draft will lack so much character that you will most likely bore your reader,"

5. What is the one thing you want all writers to know about their ideas?

   "No idea is perfect, and they don't have to make sense, because it's your job as the writer to take your ideas and make them make sense for all of your future readers so when you start it doesn't have to make sense right away,"
